Yes please! To be sure, this wine is delicious and really tastes like red wine. They also suggest pairing this Red Blend with salmon, chicken, risotto, and pasta. Fre says this alcohol-removed wine is rich and smooth with bright fruit flavors including ripe black cherry aroma and a subtle smoky character. Or you can click the variety in which you are interested below and it will jump you straight to that part of the review.Īlthough the name “Red Blend” makes it sound like this wine is totally generic, it’s actually my favorite wine of the bunch. As always, you can scroll through and read the whole post if you’d like. So I made a little table of contents for you. With that in mind, this review is quite long. So I bought every Fre Wine flavor I could find. You guys know I always want to give you the absolute best and most thorough and honest reviews possible. Of course I could have just bought one bottle and been like “Hey guys! I tried this non alcoholic wine and here’s what I thought of it!” But no. With that out of the way, let’s move onto the review itself. I would speak with someone more knowledgeable than I am when it comes to these matters before drinking any alcohol removed wines. With that in mind, if you are pregnant, on medications, have struggles with alcohol, etc. Which means my beverage choices are less strict than people who cannot consume alcohol for other reasons. Rather, I don’t drink alcohol out of personal preference. So I’m not sure what all of the rules are when it comes to “alcohol removed” and “non alcoholic” beverages. So cutting out alcohol was a really healthy choice for me. Plus, I’ve had people very close to me have severe issues with alcohol and I’ve seen first hand what it can do to someone. And honestly, I don’t need any help coming up with new things to worry about. Was I somewhere safe? Could I trust the people that were around me? Did I get out of control? Did I say or do something stupid? As someone with anxiety and OCD, feeling out of control can be a big trigger. But then the next day, all of the worries would hit like a ton of bricks. Of course I always had a blast in the moment. In fact, for me, drinking alcohol just led to more worrying. Not only did alcohol just not seem worth the hangover hassle anymore, but it also didn’t seem worth the mental health trouble too. But moreover, I stopped drinking to help my mental health. Although I was always a lightweight when it came to drinking, I was definitely more afraid of hangovers after Whole30. However, I also made the decision to stop drinking to prevent myself from having an unhealthy relationship with alcohol. Initially, I stopped drinking alcohol because I completed Whole30 (you can read about that experience here) and I felt so good after, I decided I just didn’t want to drink anymore. Until now! As soon as I discovered the existence of Fre Alcohol Removed Wines, I began searching everywhere for this non alcoholic wine. Of course there are some amazing mocktails out there. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t miss having a cocktail or glass of wine now and then. Out of the bunch, it was a light sparkling wine that came out on top.A lot of people don’t know this, but I stopped drinking alcohol over 3 years ago. Overall, the red and white wines I tasted were quite bad, but could appeal to some if they had time to experiment with serving ideas (frozen berries in the rosé could work). Dry January is a long and arduous month for some, so it's good to have choice. I've been told that nonalcoholic wines, for the most part, are unpalatable, which is why I threw in a couple of replacement options that could hit the spot that drinking wine occupies. I tested out an assortment of six nonalcoholic and low-alcohol wines, and wine alternatives. I know that if I was to give up alcohol for whatever reason, I'd miss wine the most - I've come to now realize wine is a large part of my social rituals. My usual order is something dry, light, and if I am driving afterward, topped up with soda water. I am a big wine drinker, and would have a couple of glasses each week to relax with or catch up with friends over. It often indicates a user profile.Īfter taste-testing a bunch of alcohol-free and nonalcoholic beers in honor of Dry January, it was only fair to give wines a go.
